Loha is a small village of 2778 hectares in Ratangarh Tehsil in Churu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Loha depends on RATANGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Loha is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Loha's pin code is 331022[4], and village code is 00649500. The area of Loha is segregated as 2505.09 hectares unirrigated, the 152.45 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 120.74 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Loha has One post office (Loha B.O) and Fifty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Loha has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Loha is a census village in the district of Churu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3609 and has total administration over 621 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Loha has 583 children, 320 boys and 263 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 757 (20.98%) males constitute 404 (11.19%) of the population and females 353 (9.78%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 7 (0.19%) males constitute 3 (0.08%) of the population and females 4 (0.11%).

The workforce is 948 male, 859 female with 1052 (58.22%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 608 males and 444 females. 273 males and 346 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 21 male and 9 female agricultural labor. 755 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of RATANGARH and Churu to sell bangle making and make their living.
