Madarda is a small village of 1570 hectares in Gogunda Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Madarda depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Madarda is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Madarda's pin code is 313705[4], and village code is 03084200. The area of Madarda is segregated as 112 hectares irrigated area, 78 hectares unirrigated, the 152 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 962 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Madarda has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Madarda is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1799 and has total administration over 368 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Madarda has 372 children, 168 boys and 204 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 20 (1.11%) males constitute 12 (0.67%) of the population and females 8 (0.44%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1316 (73.15%) males constitute 661 (36.74%) of the population and females 655 (36.41%).

The workforce is 505 male, 272 female with 512 (65.89%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 429 males and 83 females. 143 males and 45 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 7 female agricultural labor. 265 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell juggery and make their living.
