Madra is a small village of 417 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Madra depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Madra is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Madra's pin code is 313906[4], and village code is 03095600. The area of Madra is segregated as 46.25 hectares irrigated area, 49.13 hectares unirrigated, the 183.18 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 138.22 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Madra is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 924 and has total administration over 214 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Madra has 135 children, 73 boys and 62 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 147 (15.91%) males constitute 75 (8.12%) of the population and females 72 (7.79%).

The workforce is 287 male, 142 female with 260 (60.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 220 males and 40 females. 103 males and 19 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 22 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 169 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agr.equipments and make their living.
