Madri is a small village of 1546 hectares in Ahore Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Madri depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 190.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Madri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Madri's pin code is 307030[4], and village code is 02286400. The area of Madri is segregated as 453 hectares irrigated area, 932 hectares unirrigated, the 88 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 73 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Madri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Madri is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2292 and has total administration over 470 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Madri has 327 children, 168 boys and 159 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 566 (24.69%) males constitute 281 (12.26%) of the population and females 285 (12.43%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 211 (9.21%) males constitute 105 (4.58%) of the population and females 106 (4.62%).

Employment[edit]

The workforce is 510 male, 482 female with 618 (62.3%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 403 males and 215 females. 120 males and 92 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 82 male and 85 female agricultural labor. 374 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell bricks and make their living.
