Magri is a small village of 346 hectares in Beawar Tehsil in Ajmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Magri depends on Kishangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 92.96% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Magri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Magri's pin code is 305926[4], and village code is 02500400. The area of Magri is segregated as 92.96 hectares irrigated area, 202.58 hectares unirrigated, the 40.67 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 9.87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Magri has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Magri has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Magri is a census village in the district of Ajmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1169 and has total administration over 206 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Magri has 150 children, 81 boys and 69 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 192 (16.42%) males constitute 95 (8.13%) of the population and females 97 (8.30%).

According to a census 2011 report, 363 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 299 male, 64 female with 229 (63.09%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 201 males and 28 females. 48 males and 14 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 5 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 134 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kishangarh and Ajmer to sell ghee and make their living.
