    Maiah Wynne (born December 22, 1996) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actress based in Portland, Oregon currently residing in Gresham.[1] Her single, "The Ballad of Lefty Brown," is featured in the end credits of the movie with the same name.[2] She placed second as a finalist in Seattle's Sound Off competition at the Museum of Pop Culture.[3] She won the 2019 International Music from the Moon songwriting contest and performed for the Apollo 11's 50th anniversary homecoming dinner at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.[4][5]

    Life and career[edit]

    Maiah Wynne was born in Colorado and moved to Spokane, Washington when she was young and her first song was composed at the age of seven. She spent her high school years in Missoula as they would move again. She won third place in First Night Spotlight, the annual New Year's Eve music competition for Missoula high-schoolers.[6] Wynne started performing at the age of fifteen and honed her craft at the Break Espresso while she was a junior at Loyola Sacred Heart. She performs with her signature butterfly wings, which were bought from Carlo's One Night Stand. After participated in the coffee shop and contest circuit, in Missoula, she won the Zoo Music Awards in 2015 and placed first at Badlander's Top of the Mic Competition the following year. At the age of twenty-one, she won second place for Seattle's Sound Off competition at the Museum of Pop Culture. After placing second for Sound Off, she earned slots at the Upstream Music Fest, Timber Music Festival, Northwest Folklife and a spot at the KEXP public radio station. Her acting career brought her an invitation to perform at the Sundance Music Festival.[3][7] In 2019 Wynne was featured in NPR's 2019 Tiny Desk Contest as the first entry and toured as a featured artist with the Portland Cello Project. She collaborated with Portland Cello Project and Alex Lifeson of Rush for her song, "Fearless Girl." Wynne, Lifeson, and Canadian singer Andy Curran worked together on a four-track EP, tentatively titled Middle of Nowhere.[8] She won the Music from the Moon songwriting contest and her prize involved a release of her single under FAME Studios, a cash prize and a performance for the Apollo 11's 50th anniversary homecoming dinner.[4][5]
