Makreta is a small village of 298 hectares in Lachhmangarh Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Makreta depends on KHERLI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Makreta is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Makreta's pin code is 321607[4], and village code is 00930900. The area of Makreta is segregated as 157 hectares irrigated area, 80 hectares unirrigated, the 3 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 15 hectare area not available for cultivation.

The village is connected with a single bus service. Makreta has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Makreta is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 930 and has total administration over 146 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Makreta has 140 children, 80 boys and 60 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 906 (97.42%) males constitute 486 (52.26%) of the population and females 420 (45.16%).

The workforce is 236 male, 157 female with 334 (84.99%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 213 males and 121 females. 154 males and 116 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male. 59 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of KHERLI and Alwar to sell earthen pot and make their living.
