Malkot is a small village of 221 hectares in Deogarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Malkot depends on DEOGARH, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Malkot is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Malkot's pin code is 313331[4], and village code is 02971000. The area of Malkot is segregated as 14.22 hectares irrigated area, 69.71 hectares unirrigated, the 41.16 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 95.93 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Malkot has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Malkot is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 625 and has total administration over 130 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Malkot has 127 children, 68 boys and 59 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 212 (33.92%) males constitute 104 (16.64%) of the population and females 108 (17.28%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 44 (7.04%) males constitute 21 (3.36%) of the population and females 23 (3.68%).

The workforce is 162 male, 164 female with 286 (87.73%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 153 males and 133 females. 95 males and 94 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 40 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DEOGARH and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
