Eystone Aoko Mukubi (born 2nd September 1988) popularly known as MALUDA, is an African Hip Hop artist, musician and rapper from Nairobi, Kenya, and is currently based in Kenya. He began his music career as a member of the gospel rap group Eternal Mc’s. The group gained traction among Christian fans with their song Jesus In My Walk.[1]

MALUDA was born in the inner city of Jericho, Nairobi, Kenya.[3]

MALUDA's interest in music began when he was in high school. He started writing raps when he was in high school and took music seriously when he finished his High school studies.[4]

Career[edit]

In 2006, MALUDA started recording music, he joined a rap group soon after his music group 'Eternal Mc's' broke, MALUDA decided to go solo on his music career. MALUDA decided to rap as a hobby, Jericho, Nairobi is known as a melting pot of various talented individuals and this served as an encouragement for MALUDA.

In 2016, MALUDA won the hip-hop song of the year award at the annual Groove Awards ceremony for his song Easy featuring the renowned rapper Juliani.[5]

In 2017 MALUDA was nominated for ‘Afro Rap/Hip Hop/Afropop Artiste of Excellence in the AGMMA award ceremony. [6]

2022 MALUDA has been nominated for hip hop song Hip Hop rap artist of the year at the FEMA awards.

MALUDA has released one album so far and is currently working on an Ep titled In My Own Words.[7]

Throughout his music career, he has worked with a number of notable musicians from Kenya, namely khaligraph Jones, Juliani, Kayvo Kforce, Bamboo, Scar Mkadinali, and Anto Neo Soul.[8]
