Mamer is a small village of 2219 hectares in Kotra Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mamer depends on Khedbrahma (Gujrat), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Mamer is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mamer's pin code is 307025[4], and village code is 03113200. The area of Mamer is segregated as 39.33 hectares irrigated area, 155.74 hectares unirrigated, the 218.22 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 95.11 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mamer has One post office and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Mamer has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Mamer is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3895 and has total administration over 649 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Mamer has 967 children, 472 boys and 495 girls.
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 3829 (98.31%) males constitute 1889 (48.50%) of the population and females 1940 (49.81%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1995 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 979 male, 1016 female with 737 (36.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 517 males and 220 females. 195 males and 27 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 296 male and 38 female agricultural labor. 1258 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Khedbrahma (Gujrat) and Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
