Man of Many is an independent Australian digital lifestyle publication targeted at men that covers style, grooming, watches, luxury, cars, politics, fitness, and other cultural content. It was founded in 2012 and now spans across mobile apps, social media platforms, and the website manofmany.com.[1] As of 2020, Man of Many is Australia’s largest online men’s lifestyle publication.[2]
Man of Many was founded in December 2012 by owners Scott Purcell and Frank Arthur as a men’s lifestyle blog. The website grew quickly and in 2014, was awarded Best Tech/Design/Media Blog at the Pedestrian.tv Blogster Awards. In 2015, Joe Cutcliffe was hired as digital editor before leaving the company in 2019.[3]
The publication announced a rebrand in 2018 and launched a new website designed by Sydney creative agency Canvas Group. In March 2020, former Octomedia journalist Nick Hall joined the online lifestyle publication as digital editor.
In 2020, Man of Many launched an original content production and premium advertising offering. It has partnered with several brands such as Ford, Nike, Land Rover, Samsung, IKEA, American Express, Toyota, Johnnie Walker, Samsung, BOSE, Van Huesen, Netflix, Wild Turkey, and others.[4][5]
The online lifestyle publication’s readership has grown rapidly since its inception. As of January 2021, it has over 300,000 followers across all social media platforms with over 6.6 Million monthly readers. It is accessible via third-party publisher platforms such as Apple News, Google News, Flipboard, Weibo & Feedly. As of January 2021, Man of Many is the largest men’s digital publication as audited by Nielsen DCR.[15][16][17]
The online publication’s content features technology, art, fashion, automotive, fitness, design, culture and entertainment, though regular articles that address sex, travel, sports and food are also featured.[18][19]
It has a distinctly masculine aesthetic and is targeted at 25-44-year-old males. It has a strong emphasis on metropolitan lifestyle stories, short-form industry analysis, men’s mental health issues, sustainability, and community initiatives. In 2020, AdNews described Man of Many as “a leading men’s lifestyle site in Australia”.[20][21][22][23]
