Mara is a small village of 838 hectares in Dungarpur Tehsil in Dungarpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mara depends on Dungarpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 68.07% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mara is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mara's pin code is 314001[4], and village code is 03306500. The area of Mara is segregated as 110.1 hectares irrigated area, 246.85 hectares unirrigated, the 136.05 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 248.87 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mara has One post office (Mada B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Mara has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Mara is a census village in the district of Dungarpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3558 and has total administration over 778 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Mara has 600 children, 312 boys and 288 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 71 (2.0%) males constitute 38 (1.07%) of the population and females 33 (0.93%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1793 (50.39%) males constitute 885 (24.87%) of the population and females 908 (25.52%).

The workforce is 945 male, 938 female with 629 (33.4%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 568 males and 61 females. 372 males and 21 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 57 male and 10 female agricultural labor. 1254 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dungarpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
