Margaon is a small village of 684 hectares in Jalor Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Margaon depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 262.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Margaon is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Margaon's pin code is 343025[4], and village code is 02293100. The area of Margaon is segregated as 384 hectares irrigated area, 13 hectares unirrigated, the 167 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 120 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Margaon has One post office (Madgaon B.O) and Seven public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Margaon has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Margaon is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2117 and has total administration over 338 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Margaon has 358 children, 186 boys and 172 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 610 (28.81%) males constitute 331 (15.64%) of the population and females 279 (13.18%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 290 (13.70%) males constitute 159 (7.51%) of the population and females 131 (6.19%).

The workforce is 576 male, 422 female with 834 (83.57%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 539 males and 295 females. 264 males and 141 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 157 male and 100 female agricultural labor. 164 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell bricks and make their living.
