Maroodi is a small village of 1893 hectares in Barmer Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Maroodi depends on BARMER, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Maroodi is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Maroodi's pin code is 344001[4], and village code is 02217400. The area of Maroodi is segregated as 130.15 hectares irrigated area, 304.74 hectares unirrigated, the 663.19 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 795.17 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Maroodi has One post office (Marudi B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Maroodi has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Maroodi is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1116 and has total administration over 188 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Maroodi has 163 children, 95 boys and 68 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 542 (48.57%) males constitute 288 (25.81%) of the population and females 254 (22.76%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Barmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
