Masotiya is a small village of 416 hectares in Banswara Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Masotiya depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Masotiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Masotiya's pin code is 327025[4], and village code is 03425000. The area of Masotiya is segregated as 271 hectares irrigated area, 7 hectares unirrigated, the 15 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 123 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Masotiya has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Masotiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Masotiya is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1926 and has total administration over 409 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Masotiya has 318 children, 178 boys and 140 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 95 (4.93%) males constitute 48 (2.49%) of the population and females 47 (2.44%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1388 (72.07%) males constitute 697 (36.19%) of the population and females 691 (35.88%).

Employment[edit]

The workforce is 536 male, 483 female with 407 (39.94%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 381 males and 26 females. 277 males and 18 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 4 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 612 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
