Reseach Centers[edit]

CERCIS: CEntre for Research on Circular economy, Innovation and SMEs[edit]

CERCIS [5] (CEntre for Research on Circular economy, Innovation and SMEs) focus is on examining how companies employ eco-innovative strategies to merge sustainability with competitiveness, addressing the objectives outlined by the European Union's 2015 Circular Economy Action Plan. This plan seeks to stimulate economic growth and job opportunities through sustainable production and consumption methods, essentially maximizing value while minimizing resource usage. Achieving this demands significant innovation and structural shifts. Technical advancements at regional and sectoral levels necessitate integrating diverse knowledge sets, crafting fitting business strategies, organizational adjustments, and substantial investment in human capital. Recognizing the value of intellectual property and intangibles, along with well-structured policy frameworks, are crucial to guide corporate performance and stimulate appropriate innovative actions. This challenge is particularly pronounced for SMEs.
