Matalwas is a small village of 261 hectares in Kotkasim Tehsil in Alwar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Matalwas depends on REWARI (HARYANA), the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Matalwas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Matalwas's pin code is 301702[4], and village code is 00787600. The area of Matalwas is segregated as 206 hectares irrigated area, 28 hectares unirrigated, the 7 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 20 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Matalwas has One post office (Matalwas B.O). Matalwas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Matalwas is a census village in the district of Alwar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 746 and has total administration over 152 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Matalwas has 76 children, 42 boys and 34 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 60 (8.04%) males constitute 33 (4.42%) of the population and females 27 (3.62%).

The workforce is 229 male, 239 female with 253 (54.06%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 195 males and 58 females. 137 males and 49 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 9 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 215 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of REWARI (HARYANA) and Alwar to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
