Mathana is a small village of 635 hectares in Baran Tehsil in Baran district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mathana depends on Baran, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 47.63% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mathana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mathana's pin code is 325205[4], and village code is 03874400. The area of Mathana is segregated as 527.57 hectares irrigated area, 3.11 hectares unirrigated, the 77.97 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 26.18 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mathana has One post office (Mathna B.O). Mathana has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Mathana is a census village in the district of Baran, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2662 and has total administration over 526 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Mathana has 313 children, 166 boys and 147 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 585 (21.98%) males constitute 316 (11.87%) of the population and females 269 (10.11%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 609 (22.88%) males constitute 333 (12.51%) of the population and females 276 (10.37%).

The workforce is 749 male, 465 female with 798 (65.73%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 638 males and 160 females. 388 males and 29 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 133 male and 117 female agricultural labor. 416 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Baran to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
