Matwas is a small village of 342 hectares in Dausa Tehsil in Dausa district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Matwas depends on Dausa, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 171.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Matwas is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Matwas's pin code is 303303[4], and village code is 01404700. The area of Matwas is segregated as 171 hectares irrigated area, 65 hectares unirrigated, the 16.33 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 89.19 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Matwas has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Matwas is a census village in the district of Dausa, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1013 and has total administration over 163 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Matwas has 193 children, 105 boys and 88 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 196 (19.35%) males constitute 93 (9.18%) of the population and females 103 (10.17%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 809 (79.86%) males constitute 413 (40.77%) of the population and females 396 (39.09%).

The workforce is 224 male, 261 female with 349 (71.96%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 211 males and 138 females. 150 males and 129 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 1 male and 2 female agricultural labor. 136 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Dausa to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
