Mauk is a small village of 1061 hectares in Jalor Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mauk depends on JALOR, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, which is 185.05% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mauk is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Mauk's pin code is 343025[4], and village code is 02295000. The area of Mauk is segregated as 195.05 hectares irrigated area, 655.56 hectares unirrigated, the 160.1 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 50.05 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mauk is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1687 and has total administration over 274 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Mauk has 320 children, 162 boys and 158 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 282 (16.72%) males constitute 151 (8.95%) of the population and females 131 (7.77%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 322 (19.09%) males constitute 169 (10.02%) of the population and females 153 (9.07%).

The workforce is 527 male, 433 female with 728 (75.83%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 489 males and 239 females. 173 males and 111 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 116 male and 104 female agricultural labor. 232 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jalor to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
