Mehran Badakhshan (Persian: مهران بدخشان) (January 31, 1994) is an Iranian composer and pianist.
Mehran Badakhshan was born in Sanandaj, Iran. His first musical training started from an early age by learning the piano under the guidance of his mother, Sonia Bolourian. in 2013 Badakhshan entered Tehran University of Art as a composition student, where he studied with Rebecca Ashooghian, Mohammad Reza Tafazzoli, and Amin Honarmand. He was also a student of Ahmad Pejman and Terrence Dwyer.
In 2019 he published his first album titled "Sketches" which received considerable acclaim and was awarded a diploma of honor in the 36th Fajr International Music Festival.[1][2] "Sketches" included works for piano solo written in his first years as a student.[3] His music is rooted in Kurdish nationalism and Iranian peoples Folk music which is presented in traditional and contemporary forms of western classical music.
Badakhshan is currently a music theory and composition professor at University of Kurdistan (Iran).
