Meli is a small village of 2524 hectares in Siwana Tehsil in Barmer district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Meli depends on BALOTRA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Meli is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Meli's pin code is 344044[4], and village code is 02162600. The area of Meli is segregated as 248 hectares irrigated area, 618 hectares unirrigated, the 1302 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 109 hectare area not available for cultivation.
Meli has One post office (Meli Bandha B.O) and Forty Three public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Meli has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Meli is a census village in the district of Barmer, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3353 and has total administration over 553 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
- Meli has 601 children, 300 boys and 301 girls.
- Scheduled caste counts for 1016 (30.30%) males constitute 534 (15.93%) of the population and females 482 (14.38%).
- Scheduled tribe counts for 156 (4.65%) males constitute 80 (2.39%) of the population and females 76 (2.27%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1778 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 935 male, 843 female with 1770 (99.55%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 931 males and 839 females. 526 males and 763 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 17 male and 29 female agricultural labor. 8 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of BALOTRA and Barmer to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
