Melwa is a small village of 2264 hectares in Luni Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Melwa depends on Jodhpur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, Two Wells supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Melwa is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tanker. Melwa's pin code is 342014[4], and village code is 01997600. The area of Melwa is segregated as 1841 hectares unirrigated, the 187 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 236 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Melwa has One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Melwa has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Melwa is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1350 and has total administration over 225 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 246 (18.22%) males constitute 119 (8.81%) of the population and females 127 (9.41%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jodhpur to sell ghee and make their living.
