    Michael Mao is a Founding Partner of Yunqi Partners.[1] He holds an EMBA from Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, an MBA from CEIBS and a Bachelors degree in engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University.[2]

    Career[edit]

    Michael Mao is a pioneer of China’s venture capital industry.[3]  He has focused on early and mid-stage investment opportunities in the fields of mobile internet[4], fintech, AI and industrial internet.[5]

    Before founding Yunqi Partners, Michael Mao was a Partner at IDG Captial, the earliest venture capital firm in China.  He joined IDG from 1999 to 2014 and was a member of the firm’s investment committee.[6]

    Prior to joining IDG Capital, Michael Mao worked at Unilever Group.[7]

    Honors[edit]

    Michael Mao was included in Forbes’ China Midas 100 list consecutively in 2017[8], 2018[9] and 2019.[10]
