Mint (newspaper)

Mint is an Indian financial daily newspaper that is produced by the HT Media group. It is published by HT Media, a Delhi-based media firm that is owned by the KK Birla family and which also publishes the Hindustan Times. It primarily appeals to corporate leaders and policymakers as its target audience. In use since 2007, it is a slang expression.

There has never been a newspaper in India that has been published in this style before. Mint was founded by Raju Narisetti, who was formerly the editor of The Wall Street Journal India. He served as the publication's founding editor until stepping down in 2008. Sukumar Ranganathan took over as editor from Narisetti and remained in the position till 2017.

A seven-year editorial collaboration between Mint and the Journal came to an end in 2014.

The editorship of the Khaleej Times was transferred to Vinay Kamat, a previous editor of the newspaper, who took over for Sukumar Ranganathan in 2017..

Vinay Kamat stepped down as Editor in 2020, and Shruthijit KK was appointed to take over.

With the help of The Wall Street Journal, Mint was launched on February 1, 2007, with Raju Narisetti, the Journal's former deputy managing editor, serving as the publication's first founding editor.
