Mokheri is a small village of 5762 hectares in Phalodi Tehsil in Jodhpur district, also known as the Blue City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Mokheri depends on Phalodi, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, Two Wells supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Mokheri is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Mokheri's pin code is 342301[4], and village code is 01921500. The area of Mokheri is segregated as 335.35 hectares irrigated area, 5254.01 hectares unirrigated, the 57.37 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 115.62 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Mokheri has One post office (Mokheri B.O) and Five public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Mokheri has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Mokheri is a census village in the district of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 3962 and has total administration over 544 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Mokheri has 825 children, 452 boys and 373 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1278 (32.26%) males constitute 655 (16.53%) of the population and females 623 (15.72%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 74 (1.87%) males constitute 44 (1.11%) of the population and females 30 (0.76%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1414 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 959 male, 455 female with 1320 (93.35%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 910 males and 410 females. 613 males and 368 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 73 male and 19 female agricultural labor. 94 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Phalodi and Jodhpur to sell woolan blanket and make their living.
