Later in 2017 Monro released his own music via Rinse FM's label set up, dropping his debut EP 'Motion' in September with support from Clash Magazine..[2]. He also remixed Jarreau Vandal and Zak Abel's collaboration 'Make You Love Me' in 2017, which was Premiered on the official Red Bull website[3]

In 2018 Monro released 'Gone Clear' (again on Rinse FM's label[4]) featuring London rapper Flohio and premiered by The Fader[5]. LA based R&B artist Jae Stephens also tapped into Monro's production, releasing 'Headlights' which was premiered by Vice[6].He was also awarded The Producer Writer Fund from UK collection society PRS[7]

In March 2020 Monro continued his contributions to Jhene Aiko’s music with the song 'Lightning & Thunder’[10] taken from her 2020 album ‘Chilombo.’ The song featured John Legend and went on to be nominated for Best R&B performance[11] in the 2021 Grammy Awards. In May 2020 he co-wrote and produced ‘My Little Alien’[12] by Rico Nasty which was featured on the official album soundtrack for the Warner Bros movie SCOOB! Further into the year he made contributions to Tori Kelly’s Solitude EP (‘Value’[13]) and Masego’s EP Studying Abroad (Sides of Me[14]). Masego’s EP went on to become an album with the extended verison ’Studying Abroad: Extended Stay’ - the project was Grammy nominated in 2022 for Best Progressive R&B Album[15]

In 2021 Monro featured on BBC World Service's podcast 'Music Life' alongside frequent collaborators Sinead Harnett, Jae Stephens and fellow producer GRADES[16]. The episode explored work/life balance, how experiences contribute to writing music and why R&B is so important to each of them.
