Morkha is a small village of 490 hectares in Desuri Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Morkha depends on Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Morkha is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Morkha's pin code is 306705[4], and village code is 02465900. The area of Morkha is segregated as 236.95 hectares irrigated area, 139.78 hectares unirrigated, the 24.83 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 88.81 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Morkha has One post office (Morkha B.O) and Thirty Five public telephones. Morkha has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Morkha is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1602 and has total administration over 375 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Morkha has 239 children, 127 boys and 112 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 313 (19.54%) males constitute 146 (9.11%) of the population and females 167 (10.42%).

The workforce is 290 male, 508 female with 515 (64.54%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 235 males and 280 females. 101 males and 149 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 39 male and 89 female agricultural labor. 283 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sadri and Pali to sell bricks and make their living.
