Murasel is a small village of 996 hectares in Ghatol Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Murasel depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Murasel is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Murasel's pin code is 327027[4], and village code is 03391800. The area of Murasel is segregated as 91 hectares irrigated area, 284 hectares unirrigated, the 177 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 203 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Murasel has One post office (Mudsal B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Murasel has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Murasel is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2800 and has total administration over 645 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Murasel has 553 children, 274 boys and 279 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 220 (7.86%) males constitute 103 (3.68%) of the population and females 117 (4.18%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 2526 (90.21%) males constitute 1232 (44.0%) of the population and females 1294 (46.21%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1572 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 770 male, 802 female with 1030 (65.52%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 624 males and 406 females. 554 males and 375 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 12 male and 6 female agricultural labor. 542 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell rope and make their living.
