Nadiya is a small village of 289 hectares in Bagidora Tehsil in Banswara district, also known as City of Hundred Islands in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Nadiya depends on Banswara, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Nadiya is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Nadiya's pin code is 327604[4], and village code is 03434300. The area of Nadiya is segregated as 224 hectares irrigated area, 33 hectares unirrigated, the 32 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves).

Nadiya has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Nadiya is a census village in the district of Banswara, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1140 and has total administration over 222 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Nadiya has 164 children, 87 boys and 77 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 15 (1.32%) males constitute 9 (0.79%) of the population and females 6 (0.53%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 741 (65.0%) males constitute 374 (32.81%) of the population and females 367 (32.19%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 595 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 284 male, 311 female with 322 (54.12%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 235 males and 87 females. 154 males are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 44 male and 82 female agricultural labor. 273 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Banswara to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
