Nai is a small village of 598 hectares in Girwa Tehsil in Udaipur district, also called 'the city of lakes' set amidst the Aravalli Ranges in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Nai depends on Udaipur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 30.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Nai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Nai's pin code is 313031[4], and village code is 03154000. The area of Nai is segregated as 37 hectares irrigated area, 124 hectares unirrigated, the 128 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 290 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Nai has One post office and One Hundred Fifty public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Nai has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Nai is a census village in the district of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4177 and has total administration over 874 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Nai has 555 children, 279 boys and 276 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 477 (11.42%) males constitute 243 (5.82%) of the population and females 234 (5.60%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 608 (14.56%) males constitute 302 (7.23%) of the population and females 306 (7.33%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1489 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1196 male, 293 female with 1169 (78.51%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1028 males and 141 females. 124 males and 13 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 14 male and 11 female agricultural labor. 320 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Udaipur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
