Nand is a small village of 738 hectares in Jhunjhunu Tehsil in Jhunjhunu district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Nand depends on Jhunjhunu, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 51.06% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Nand is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Nand's pin code is 333001[4], and village code is 00682200. The area of Nand is segregated as 51.06 hectares irrigated area, 620.09 hectares unirrigated, the 53 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 14.21 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Nand has One post office (Nand B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Nand has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Nand is a census village in the district of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1668 and has total administration over 313 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Nand has 249 children, 121 boys and 128 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 424 (25.42%) males constitute 210 (12.59%) of the population and females 214 (12.83%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 83 (4.98%) males constitute 38 (2.28%) of the population and females 45 (2.70%).

The workforce is 494 male, 526 female with 325 (31.86%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 230 males and 95 females. 93 males and 70 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 30 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 695 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Jhunjhunu to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
