Narayana is a small village of 298 hectares in Karauli Tehsil in Karauli district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Narayana depends on KARAULI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Narayana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Narayana's pin code is 322242[4], and village code is 01224200. The area of Narayana is segregated as 52.36 hectares irrigated area, 123.5 hectares unirrigated, the 84.78 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 26.35 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Narayana has One post office (Narayana B.O). Narayana has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Narayana is a census village in the district of Karauli, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1843 and has total administration over 348 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Narayana has 316 children, 170 boys and 146 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 578 (31.36%) males constitute 314 (17.04%) of the population and females 264 (14.32%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 1008 (54.69%) males constitute 556 (30.17%) of the population and females 452 (24.53%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 754 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 454 male, 300 female with 664 (88.06%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 441 males and 223 females. 173 males and 129 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 191 male and 84 female agricultural labor. 90 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Karauli to sell ghee and make their living.
