Narlai is a small village of 3343 hectares in Desuri Tehsil in Pali district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Narlai depends on Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 204.00% of the total supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Narlai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Narlai's pin code is 306703[4], and village code is 02464000. The area of Narlai is segregated as 510 hectares irrigated area, 1765.01 hectares unirrigated, the 672 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 396 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Narlai has One post office (Narlai B.O) and One Hundred Two public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Narlai has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Narlai is a census village in the district of Pali, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 6713 and has total administration over 1481 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Narlai has 892 children, 486 boys and 406 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1520 (22.64%) males constitute 769 (11.46%) of the population and females 751 (11.19%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 384 (5.72%) males constitute 209 (3.11%) of the population and females 175 (2.61%).

The workforce is 1695 male, 1467 female with 1985 (62.78%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1275 males and 710 females. 421 males and 273 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 68 male and 202 female agricultural labor. 1177 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Sadri and Pali to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
