Nick Velasquez is a Colombian-Canadian best-selling author known for his book, Learn, Improve, Master: How to Develop Any Skill and Excel at It.[1] He is the founder of UnlimitedMastery.com, a website dedicated to teaching people principles and strategies on learning, creativity, skills development, and mastery.[2][3]

Velasquez has gained recognition for his writing on learning science, peak performance, mastery, sports psychology, creativity, habits, and human excellence. He has been featured in several media outlets including Time, Forbes, Entrepreneur, Thrive Global, London Daily Post, Influencive, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, Thought Catalogue, and many others.[4][5]

Early life and education[edit]

Nick Velasquez was born in Medellin, Colombia. During his teenage years, he attended an unconventional school that based all teaching on the Socratic method (also known as elenctic method). He credits his dedication, curiosity, and love for learning to his school’s principles and values. After graduating high school, he briefly attended music college in the United States before switching to study business. He graduated with honors and holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Entrepreneurship.

Career[edit]

Velasquez immigrated to Canada in his twenties and started a real estate investment company for which he still serves as president and CEO. Simultaneously working at his investment company, Velasquez founded Unlimited Mastery, a website dedicated to help people develop their potential and achieve mastery in their fields.[6][7] Velasquez’s writing has been featured on multiple media platforms such as Forbes, TIME, Entrepreneur, and Thrive Global.[8][9][10][11]

In 2020, Velasquez released his first book titled Learn, Improve, Master: How to Develop any Skill and Excel at It, which revolves around a success model that helps readers accelerate learning and get on the path of mastery.[12][13] Soon, his book became a bestseller, gaining recognition for Velasquez’s unique approach that offers a combination of learning science and strategies from world-class performers to learn, improve, and master skills.[14]

Personal life[edit]

Velasquez speaks English, Spanish, and French. He is passionate about playing guitar, reading, and fitness. Velasquez is fascinated by Japanese culture and is currently learning Japanese, along with trying to spend as much time as he can in Tokyo, which is his favorite city. Velasquez currently lives in Montreal, Canada.
