Numskull Designs is a registered trademark of Rubber Road Ltd who design, manufacture and wholesale licensed merchandise and peripherals from brands, such as Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox.
Rubber Road Ltd was founded in September 2012 by Ben Grant and Matt Precious, who previously held Senior roles at Game (retailer)l.[1]
Based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, they also have offices in Sydney, Australia and Shenzhen, China, Rubber Road Ltd is a mother company to multiple business ventures which include Appey Studios, Numskull and Yellow Bulldog.[2]
Numskull Designs produces market licensed "Ugly Xmas Jumpers" from Sega, Capcom, The Walt Disney Company and Sony PlayStation[3]. Other notable products include the Spyro the Dragon incense burner and the Ghostbusters incense burner, which was nominated for the most innovative product awards in 2021.[4][5]
In 2020, Numskull partnered with Bungie to make a figure of 'The Stranger' from Destiny 2. The figure released with the Destiny 2 new content 'Destiny 2 beyond Light' which had its own collectors edition with The Stranger figure inside.[6]
Numskull Designs also owns two trademarked brands, Tubbz and Quarter Arcades.
In 2019, Numskull Designs announced a new brand called Tubbz, which uses the foundation of a rubber duck to depict different video game and movie characters. Most notably from trademark brands such as Jurassic Park (film)[7], Jaws (film)[8] and Friends[9].These come in a small bathtub style packaging.[10]
In 2020, Numskull designs expanded Tubbz to the horror genre, releasing classic horror movie character Icons such as the The Exorcist (film), It (character) and The Lost Boys.[11]
In 2018, Numskull Designs partnered with Bandai Namco Studios to make a replica Pac-Man arcade machine but at quarter of the size. This continued to expand and soon made more 1980's arcade machine replicas such as Galaga, Bubble Bobble|Bubble Bobble and Ms. Pac-Man.[12]
In 2021, Numskull created a replica of the Polybius (urban legend) quarter arcade, which is an urban legend from the early 1980s.[13]
