Pakhand is a small village of 1350 hectares in Nathdwara Tehsil in Rajsamand district, for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pakhand depends on NATHDWARA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pakhand is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Pakhand's pin code is 313323[4], and village code is 03044300. The area of Pakhand is segregated as 156 hectares irrigated area, 446 hectares unirrigated, the 530 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 217.85 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pakhand is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2449 and has total administration over 569 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Pakhand has 363 children, 185 boys and 178 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 460 (18.78%) males constitute 233 (9.51%) of the population and females 227 (9.27%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 246 (10.04%) males constitute 127 (5.19%) of the population and females 119 (4.86%).

According to a census 2011 report, 1231 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 650 male, 581 female with 1044 (84.81%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 619 males and 425 females. 432 males and 323 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 66 male and 76 female agricultural labor. 187 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NATHDWARA and Rajsamand to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
