Palana is a small village of 5194 hectares in Bikaner Tehsil in Bikaner district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Palana depends on DESHNOKE, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Palana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tubewell. Palana's pin code is 334402[4], and village code is 00500500. The area of Palana is segregated as 120 hectares irrigated area, 3962 hectares unirrigated, the 63 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 1049 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Palana has One post office (Palana B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Palana has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Palana is a census village in the district of Bikaner, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 9331 and has total administration over 1312 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Palana has 1695 children, 897 boys and 798 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 2604 (27.91%) males constitute 1368 (14.66%) of the population and females 1236 (13.25%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 10 (0.11%) males constitute 6 (0.06%) of the population and females 4 (0.04%).

According to a census 2011 report, 4082 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 2454 male, 1628 female with 2790 (68.35%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 2081 males and 709 females. 1087 males and 517 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 175 male and 79 female agricultural labor. 1292 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DESHNOKE and Bikaner to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
