Palei is a small village of 981 hectares in Niwai Tehsil in Tonk district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Palei depends on Niwai, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 150.07% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Palei is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Well. Palei's pin code is 304022[4], and village code is 02621500. The area of Palei is segregated as 350.73 hectares irrigated area, 386.55 hectares unirrigated, the 164.69 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 78.74 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Palei has One post office (Palai B.O) and Nine public telephones. The village is connected with a single bus service. Palei has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Palei is a census village in the district of Tonk, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1802 and has total administration over 320 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Palei has 237 children, 125 boys and 112 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 197 (10.93%) males constitute 105 (5.83%) of the population and females 92 (5.11%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 406 (22.53%) males constitute 211 (11.71%) of the population and females 195 (10.82%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Niwai and Tonk to sell earthan pot and make their living.
