Paliem is a small village of 1000 hectares in Bardez Tehsil in North Goa district, known and rated to have the best quality of life in India (based on the commission’s “12 Indicators”)[2] in the state of Goa, India.[3] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Paliem depends on PERNEM, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[4] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 14.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, One tubewell, and Two handpumps. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and One spring. Paliem is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Tap. Paliem's pin code is 403507[5], and village code is 00000300. The area of Paliem is segregated as 36.52 hectares irrigated area, 565.25 hectares unirrigated, the 146.58 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 251.29 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Paliem is a census village in the district of North Goa, Goa. The village has a total population of 2776 and has total administration over 609 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.
As per the census 2011 report, 2205 people are literate in Paliem out of which 1186 are males and 1019 are females.

According to a census 2011 report, 1065 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 849 male, 216 female with 574 (53.9%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 477 males and 97 females. 28 males and 25 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 5 male and 5 female agricultural labor. 491 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.
They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of PERNEM and North Goa to sell country liquor and make their living.
