Palka is a small village of 839 hectares in Nagar Tehsil in Bharatpur district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Palka depends on Nagar, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Palka is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Palka's pin code is 321024[4], and village code is 00989400. The area of Palka is segregated as 70 hectares irrigated area, 645 hectares unirrigated, the 12 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 112 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Palka has One post office (Palka B.O). The village is connected with a single bus service. Palka has One bank, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Palka is a census village in the district of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2769 and has total administration over 442 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Palka has 416 children, 214 boys and 202 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 400 (14.45%) males constitute 235 (8.49%) of the population and females 165 (5.96%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 59 (2.13%) males constitute 34 (1.23%) of the population and females 25 (0.90%).

The workforce is 732 male, 349 female with 667 (61.7%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 556 males and 111 females. 308 males and 76 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 13 male and 1 female agricultural labor. 414 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Nagar and Bharatpur to sell agricultural produce and make their living.
