Palm Angels is a luxury fashion label founded in 2015 by Italian art director and photographer, Francesco Ragazzi[1] who is also the former artistic director of Moncler[2]. Palm Angels is part of the New Guards Group[3][4] and has collaborated with brands such as Moncler Genius[5], Playboi Carti, BBC Ice Cream, Under Armour & Clarks.

History[edit]

Francesco Ragazzi started Palm Angels in 2011 by publishing a photographic book that documents skate culture.

The book, published by Rizzoli[6], features a collection of black and white photographs of the L.A. skateboarding scene, shot by Ragazzi and an introduction written by Pharrell Williams[7]. The launch took place in Paris at the former concept store named Colette.

This led to the creations of a brand where the fascination for American culture merges with the Italian perspective, inspiring collections composed of deconstructed and comfortable shapes with unexpected sartorial details. The release of the book in 2014[8] kicked off the first ready to wear collection (Fall Winter 2015). In the flowing years, the brand presented in Paris (Fall Winter 2016) and showed its Fall Winter 2017 collection in Milan.

Collaborations[edit]

From 2017 Palm Angels started a series of collaborations like Suicoke[9] and Sundek[10] which became one of the leitmotif of the brand.

One year later Francesco Ragazzi took part in the first edition of Moncler Genius[11] (February 2018), with a singular interpretation of what Moncler represents for him as designer and former art director of the brand. Palm Angels later teamed up with American brand, Vlone to design a small capsule of hoodies and also with Playboi Carti for a limited-edition capsule collection[12] composed of tracksuits, t-shirts, a hoodie, and a denim jacket each emblazoned with a logo that reads “Palm Angels Die Punk”. To celebrate the collection, designer Francesco Ragazzi and Playboi Carti hosted a launch party at premier streetwear retailer Patron of the New in TriBeca during New York Fashion Week.

In 2018 another important collaboration with Under Armour was unveiled during the Spring Summer 2019 show of the brand in Milan. After showing for the first time in New York. After that Palm Angels launched its collaboration with BBC Ice Cream at The Webster NY and its first collaboration in the world of hotellerie with Setai Miami during Art Basel 2019. More recently, Palm Angels presented its Fall Winter 2020 collection in New York, unveiling the Palm Angles x C. & Clarks collaboration[13]. Palm Angels is an italian luxury streetwear fashion house founded by designer and photographer Francesco Ragazzi. The company was incorporated in Milan in 2015. Palm Angels is produced and distributed by italian contemporary fashion firm New Guards Group, alongside Off-White, Heron Preston and many other brands.
