Panchla is a small village of 1804 hectares in Sanchore Tehsil in Jalor district, also known as Granite City in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Panchla depends on SANCHORE, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 360.00% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, Two canals and Two springs. Panchla is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Panchla's pin code is 343041[4], and village code is 02332600. The area of Panchla is segregated as 1438 hectares irrigated area, 213 hectares unirrigated, the 72 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 81 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Panchla has One post office (Panchala B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Panchla has One bank and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Panchla is a census village in the district of Jalor, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 4907 and has total administration over 741 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Panchla has 883 children, 467 boys and 416 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 1619 (32.99%) males constitute 862 (17.57%) of the population and females 757 (15.43%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 90 (1.83%) males constitute 52 (1.06%) of the population and females 38 (0.77%).

According to a census 2011 report, 2614 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 1392 male, 1222 female with 2538 (97.09%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 1361 males and 1177 females. 1057 males and 1013 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 123 male and 98 female agricultural labor. 76 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of SANCHORE and Jalor to sell ghee and make their living.
