Paprala is a small village of 419 hectares in Hindoli Tehsil in Bundi district, also known as a city of stepwells in the State of Rajasthan, India.[1] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Paprala depends on DEOLI, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[2] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 69.20% of the total supply, One tank, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - One river, One canal and Two springs. Paprala is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Paprala's pin code is 323025[3], and village code is 02696800. The area of Paprala is segregated as 69.2 hectares irrigated area, 93.5 hectares unirrigated, the 95.2 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 161.4 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Paprala has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Paprala is a census village in the district of Bundi, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1074 and has total administration over 229 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Paprala has 152 children, 71 boys and 81 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 243 (22.63%) males constitute 124 (11.55%) of the population and females 119 (11.08%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 726 (67.60%) males constitute 374 (34.82%) of the population and females 352 (32.77%).

Employment[edit]

According to a census 2011 report, 519 people of the total population are employed. The workforce is 278 male, 241 female with 383 (73.8%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 260 males and 123 females. 165 males and 84 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 47 male and 38 female agricultural labor. 136 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of DEOLI and Bundi to sell ghee and make their living.
