Patlai is a small village of 510 hectares in Gangdhar Tehsil in Jhalawar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Patlai depends on Kolvi Mandi Rajendrapur, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 37.14% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Patlai is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Patlai's pin code is 326514[4], and village code is 04128800. The area of Patlai is segregated as 123.8 hectares irrigated area, 209.67 hectares unirrigated, the 120.54 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 34.57 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Patlai has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Patlai is a census village in the district of Jhalawar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 796 and has total administration over 153 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Patlai has 145 children, 82 boys and 63 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 114 (14.32%) males constitute 58 (7.29%) of the population and females 56 (7.04%).

The workforce is 233 male, 206 female with 389 (88.61%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 224 males and 165 females. 171 males and 113 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 21 male and 45 female agricultural labor. 50 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Kolvi Mandi Rajendrapur and Jhalawar to sell ghee and make their living.
