Peepla is a small village of 549 hectares in Kumbhalgarh Tehsil in Rajsamand district, known for Rajsamand Lake, an artificial lake created in the 17th century by Rana Raj Singh in the state of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Peepla depends on NATHDWARA, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, One tank, One tubewell, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Peepla is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Peepla's pin code is 313301[4], and village code is 03012000. The area of Peepla is segregated as 12.63 hectares irrigated area, 55.88 hectares unirrigated, the 374.17 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 70.01 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Peepla has One post office (Nathdwara S.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Peepla has Two banks and Two credit societies for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

The village has an uninterrupted 24 hours electric supply from a power grid.

Demographics[edit]

Peepla is a census village in the district of Rajsamand, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1243 and has total administration over 279 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Peepla has 213 children, 115 boys and 98 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 105 (8.45%) males constitute 53 (4.26%) of the population and females 52 (4.18%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 824 (66.29%) males constitute 399 (32.10%) of the population and females 425 (34.19%).

The workforce is 322 male, 293 female with 268 (43.58%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 160 males and 108 females. 107 males and 94 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 24 male and 10 female agricultural labor. 347 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of NATHDWARA and Rajsamand to sell juggary and make their living.
