Physician

From Wikitia - Reading time: 1 min

Physician refers to a professional who performs medicine, which is concerned with the promotion, maintenance, or restoration of health via the study, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments. Physicians may choose to concentrate their practise on specific disease categories, patient types, and treatment methods (known as specialties), or they may choose to take on the responsibility of providing ongoing and comprehensive medical care to individuals, families, and communities (known as general practise). Medical practise requires both a thorough understanding of academic disciplines such as anatomy and physiology, as well as an understanding of underlying diseases and their treatment—the science of medicine—as well as a reasonable level of competence in its applied practice—the art or craft of medicine.

Both the function of the physician and the definition of the term "physician" differ from country to country. Degrees and other credentials vary considerably, but there are some similar components, such as medical ethics, which requires that doctors exhibit care, compassion, and kindness towards their patients.
