Pip Dhaliwal (born October 9, 1972) is a British entrepreneur, mortgage broker, and drummer. He is the founder of Freedom Capital, a leading investment management and consulting firm based in Surrey.[1] Dhaliwal has over two decades’ experience as a mortgage broker and is regarded for his unique approach to helping people get fast and easy access to money in order to kick start their real estate businesses or projects.[2]

Dhaliwal apart from dominating the financial industry has also earned a reputation in the music industry. He is a drummer in the renowned band En Karma that is known for spearheading and popularising Indian Bhangra music globally.[3]

Early life and education[edit]

Dhaliwal was born on October 9, 1972, in Birmingham. After graduating from high school, Dhaliwal did a five-year Business and Finance course. When he was 25 years old, Dhaliwal immigrated to Canada. He then acquired a CSC designation from the Canadian Securities Institution and later a Mortgage Brokers License in BC, Alberta and Ontario.

Career[edit]

Dhaliwal started his career in 1999 as a mortgage specialist at the Royal Bank of Canada, a global financial institution, where he worked for seven years. After his exit from the firm, Dhaliwal became a real estate investor and a private lender.[7]

In 2010, Dhaliwal established Freedom Capital, a leading commercial mortgage solutions provider based in Surrey.[8] The company within a decade under Dhaliwal’s leadership has gained recognition for offering full-spectrum financing and bespoke alternative mortgage solutions.[9]

During his career, Dhaliwal has also held executive positions at Coast Capital Savings and Vancity Savings Credit Union. He is also a semi-professional drummer for Enkarma, one of the top bands in North America forwarding the Bhangra movement.

Dhaliwal is fluent in English, Punjabi and Hindi. He is a firm believer in attaining a work-life balance.
