Pirana is a small village of 1162 hectares in Dungla Tehsil in Chittorgarh district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Pirana depends on Bari Sadri, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include Two taps, One Well supply, which is 50.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Pirana is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Pirana's pin code is 312402[4], and village code is 03645600. The area of Pirana is segregated as 110 hectares irrigated area, 602 hectares unirrigated, the 372.91 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 77 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Pirana has One post office (Pirana B.O) and One public telephone. The village is connected with a single bus service. Pirana has Two banks, One credit society and One agricultural credit society for the regulation of economic activity. The village is also equipped with Two recreational centers.

Pirana is a census village in the district of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 2021 and has total administration over 468 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Pirana has 287 children, 140 boys and 147 girls.
  • Scheduled caste counts for 493 (24.39%) males constitute 242 (11.97%) of the population and females 251 (12.42%).
  • Scheduled tribe counts for 314 (15.54%) males constitute 153 (7.57%) of the population and females 161 (7.97%).

The workforce is 615 male, 560 female with 412 (35.06%) of all workers being employed full-time, this includes 316 males and 96 females. 237 males and 81 females are considered as the main cultivators with the help of 3 male and 3 female agricultural labor. 763 people are reported to work for a marginal period of time in the year.

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Bari Sadri and Chittorgarh to sell furniture and make their living.
