Poonani is a small village of 430 hectares in Lachhmangarh Tehsil in Sikar district in the State of Rajasthan, India.[2] The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is elected representative of the village by the local elections. Poonani depends on Lachhmangarh, the nearest town for all major economic activities.[3] The village has government-provided water facilities that include One tap, One Well supply, which is 4.00% of the total supply, Two tanks, Two tubewells, and One handpump. The villagers also acquire water from some of the natural water sources - Two rivers, Two canals and Two springs. Poonani is also surrounded by Two lakes. The population of the village depends on the source of drinking water during summer on Handpump. Poonani's pin code is 332318[4], and village code is 01677100. The area of Poonani is segregated as 4 hectares irrigated area, 385 hectares unirrigated, the 25 hectare area under culturable waste (including gauchar and groves), and remaining 16 hectare area not available for cultivation.

Poonani is a census village in the district of Sikar, Rajasthan. The village has a total population of 1290 and has total administration over 222 houses which are connected to supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage.

  • Scheduled caste counts for 112 (8.68%) males constitute 59 (4.57%) of the population and females 53 (4.11%).

They depend on the agricultural markets (Mandi) of the nearby towns of Lachhmangarh and Sikar to sell ghee and make their living.
